G1 Sports Support provides a group of unique services in Broward County, offering youth recreational activities to at-risk children at NO COST. The organization is one of the only programs in Broward County to offer 100% financial assistance to sports enrollment and provide the required gear for kids to actively participate. 

 

The key ingredient to G1 Sports Supports program is not what we do, but why we do it? This organization is a seed which was planted for both children and families of less fortunate situations in South Florida. Gerald Williams Jr. and Natalia Cox saw a void needing to be filled in the South Florida community, which led them to build a platform for families of worse circumstances. Children of the area are falling victims to neighborhood violence, juvenile detention centers, jail, youth age pregnancies, diseases due to physical inactivity, and other unhealthy lifestyles. Statistics show 60% of those children come from low income homes.

 

G1 Sports Support realizes how costly out of school recreational activities can be along with the financial strain it places on parents with middle to low income. This is why G1SS works to remove that financial burden from parents and allow a stress-free opportunity for parents and children of need. Apart of our program includes monitoring and evaluating all children in the program, which helps us to witness the improvements among our participants.

The organization evaluated those community issues for ways to reduce the negative impact on children. After researching we determined that parks, recreation centers, and little league teams have created positive activities for children as a solution, unfortunately some of these children cannot access them due to unaffordable registration costs. So, G1 Sports Support has designed a program that is continuously bridging the gaps between recreational sports and children.
